Secretary M/o PA&SS Reviews Progress on GIZ LoU and Establishment of Technical Support Unit

Islamabad: 13th January, 2026---- A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of the Secretary, Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety (M/o PA&SS), to review progress on the Letter of Understanding (LoU) signed with GIZ and the establishment of a Technical Support Unit (TSU) through a grant agreement with the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) for provision of technical support to the Ministry and Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM).

 

The meeting was attended by the GIZ team headed by Mr. Frank Schneider, representatives of PIDE, and the Director General, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, along with officers of M/o PA&SS. During the meeting, the Secretary M/o PA&SS emphasized that the technical assistance should be aligned with the core needs and priorities of the Ministry. He directed the concerned stakeholders to submit a detailed implementation plan outlining key deliverables, timelines, and clear delineation of roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders.
