A cheque distribution ceremony of the Ehsaas interest free loans under the Ehsaas Programme of the Government of Pakistan was organised at a local mosque situated in Walton Makkah Colony, Lahore. The ceremony was organized by Akhuwat, a partner organisation of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). In the ceremony 114 beneficiaries were given cheques of interest free loans worth Rs 3.9 million. Member Provincial Assembly, Punjab Neelum Hayat Malik was the chief guest at the occasion. She distributed cheques among borrowers and encouraged the interest free loan beneficiaries to use these Ehsaas loans for their enterprises progressively, so they could contribute to the local economy in an effective manner. Under this programme, 80,000 interest free loans are being provided each month across Pakistan. Through this programme, the poorest households will be graduated out of poverty.
